Meet Barry Halpern, MD
from Central Ohio Newborn Medicine

Prior to joining Central Ohio Newborn Medicine in 2005, Dr. Barry Halpern practiced neonatology in Washington and Nevada. Specializing in neonatal abstinence syndrome, Halpern has gained extensive experience over the past 25 years working with babies with complex neonatal diseases.

Dr. Halpern has a family-centered patient care approach and treats babies and their families as if they were his own family members.

Despite many professional accolades, Dr. Halpern believes earning awards for his work is secondary. His primary focus is on providing the best possible care for the infants so that they thrive and providing supportive care for their families.

Originally from Brooklyn, NY, Dr. Halpern is happy to be back in Columbus where he attended high school and medical school, as well as completed his residency in pediatrics at Columbus Children’s Hospital.

In his spare time, Dr. Halpern trains for triathlons, plays a variety of stringed musical instruments, and thoroughly enjoys the days when he doesn’t have a set schedule. Dr. Halpern and his wife reside in Dublin and have three children between the ages of 18 and 25.
